There is an emphasis on the gentle and exotic bossa nova sounds of the sixties.
Whilst featuring many of the songs by Antonio Carlos Jobim, recorded by “Girl From Ipanema” Astrud Gilberto, and sax legend Stan Getz, Matt also performs unique Bossa Nova and Samba versions of 60s classics by Burt Bacharach, The Beatles, and many others.
Matt also has a vast repertoire of broader styles such as Jazz, Swing, 60’s Easy-Listening, Film Themes and Pop Ballads. But there is always an emphasis on well-known tunes.
Matt’s sax-playing is the perfect accompaniment to reception and banqueting events. His sound is warm and familiar with a subtle Brazilian groove but at the same time unintrusive, the perfect choice for live background music through wedding receptions and corporate functions. Although Matt plays saxophone (normally associated with jazz and swing) the atmosphere he creates is more similar to that of a cocktail pianist, harpist or string quartet. Matt’s sax-playing has also proven to be ideal live music in department stores such as Harvey Nicholls creating a cheerful and welcoming atmosphere.
